The stories worth crossing the bridge for
From wave-battered lighthouses to a UNESCO harbour town and a world-famous memorial — let us take you to Nova Scotia's most unforgettable places, in comfort and at your own pace.
Peggy's Cove
A working fishing village founded in 1811, Peggy's Cove is home to Peggy's Point Lighthouse (1915) — perched on wave-smoothed granite at the mouth of St. Margarets Bay. It is one of Canada's most photographed places.
Watch the Atlantic surf crash over the rocks, sample fresh-caught seafood, and visit the nearby Swissair Flight 111 memorial. A short, unforgettable drive from Halifax.
Lunenburg
Founded in 1753, Old Town Lunenburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site — the best surviving example of a planned British colonial settlement in North America, with its vivid, boldly painted waterfront.
Wander the colourful streets, tour the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, and see the legendary Bluenose II schooner in her home port.

Mahone Bay
Settled in 1754, this charming South Shore town is famous for its three historic waterfront churches standing side by side — their reflection in the harbour is among the most photographed scenes in Canada.
Browse artisan boutiques, paddle the sheltered bay, and soak up postcard-perfect maritime views just minutes from Lunenburg.
Titanic Graveyard
After the Titanic sank in 1912, Halifax was the base for recovery efforts. 121 victims rest at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, their black granite headstones set in a gentle curve that echoes the hull of a ship.
A moving, world-renowned memorial — including the headstone marked simply 'J. Dawson' that draws visitors from around the globe.
Citadel Hill
Crowning downtown Halifax, the star-shaped Halifax Citadel (this fourth fort completed in 1856) guarded the strategic harbour for over a century. Its noon gun still fires every day.
Meet the kilted 78th Highlanders, take in sweeping harbour views, and time your visit for the daily cannon firing.

Heritage · Halifax north endAfricville & Black Nova Scotian Culture
On the shores of the Bedford Basin in Halifax's north end stood Africville — a close-knit Black community founded in the mid-1800s by African Nova Scotians, with its own church, school and homes. Despite paying taxes, residents were denied basic services, and in the 1960s the city demolished the community and relocated families. Today Africville Park and the Africville Museum — housed in a replica of the beloved Seaview United Baptist Church — honour that history, the fight for justice, and the enduring culture of Black Nova Scotians. A moving, meaningful stop to learn, reflect and pay respect.
